L. I. O. R. Long Island?s Only Active 4WD Club ! Welcome To Long Island Off Road Club ? in search of the ultimate trail, no matter where it is! As an active club, there are many tasks we would like to accomplish. 1. Promote the sport of safe and organized four-wheeling. We are members of East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association and support the ideals of Tread Lightly and the Blue Ribbon Coalition. 2. Plan recreational, educational, and social activities for our members and their families. 3. Support and participate in land use and management projects to enhance our public image and preserve the environment. We can achieve this though trail clean ups, adopt-a-road projects, political action and more. We request $40.00 annual membership dues. If you would like, you may tag along for a trail ride and then make your decision. There is no pressure. When you join, your membership will include various club materials, newsletters and notice of meetings and upcoming events. We want to keep the club and it?s activities safe and enjoyable for everyone involved. All members should conduct themselves in a proper and respectable fashion at all times, whether in or out of club activities. All members must follow our rules and by-laws during trail rides and events. Failure to do so may terminate your membership. All members shall hold a valid license and current insurance. Tire size will not be limited, but remember Tread Lightly principles. In addition, full size rigs may be prohibited from certain trails due to natural size limitations on the trail. As much as possible, we will look for trails that will accommodate all members; we?ve got big trucks too! We encourage all family members to participate. Bring the whole gang!! We will plan outings for all ages!! NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE TRAIL !!! PLEASE NO LITTERING !!! TRUCK OUT MORE THEN YOU TRUCKED IN !!! Thanks again for your interest in LIOR. Long Island Off Road Requirements Many of the trails we will be on are in the wilderness, far away from any repair shop or parts store. We require all trucks to be equipped will the following items. Do not go on a run without them. You never know what may happen. Plus we will hold a yearly inspection to make sure all trucks are safe and reliable. Remember if one truck stops, everyone stops. So, let?s make the run move as smoothly as possible. CB Radio Seatbelts or harnesses Full size spare tire Jack that will lift your truck Jackboard or foot Lug Wrench Tow hooks front and rear Tow Strap (no metal hooks) Battery hold-down Fire extinguisher Shovel Tool Kit Liability insurance There are also some items we recommend you have with you. Only you know the condition of your Four Wheeler. Spare Parts (hubs, ignition, belts, assorted hardware) Tree saver strap & shackle First Aid kit Axe or saw Air pump or compressor Tire plug kit Extra fluids (oil, water, gas, transfercase & differential fluids) Winch Survival kit Lunch Camera Please be responsible. Always watch the truck in front and the truck behind you. Don't get lost. Try to leave the trails cleaner then you found them. We hope you enjoy your adventures with us! We have meetings once a month. Please bring your pictures and videos to share with the rest of the club. Also, bring your comments, good or bad. We want to know how we?re doing. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month. The monthly trail ride is usually the 3rd full weekend of the month.
