Have you got it? Did you do it?
12/11/2007

Do you have it? I’m guessing you do, or you wouldn’t be reading this. I’d be willing to bet someone else you know has it too. What is it? It’s “passion”. It is the “passion” of the sport that drives you to be involved. We all have the “passion” in one form or another. Your dedication and commitment to the sport is your way of showing the “passion” you have. Passion can be shown in many ways. Your “passion” may be in serving your community through one of our many clubs community service programs. Or your “passion” might be in making sure we have a safe competitive environment. Maybe your “passion” is shown by taking leadership roles in your club, region or at the Association level. Did your write an article for the East Coaster? If your answer is yes, then that is a way your show your “passion”. It is that drive that keeps us going and if we lose that drive, or “passion” for the sport, well, that can only spell disaster. Don’t lose your drive!

Have you done it? Are you planning on doing it? Someone needs to do it! Volunteer! This association is made up of volunteers. The board seated before you are volunteers. Your club and Region leaders are volunteers. Throughout the year this association and our member clubs will seek out volunteers to help with many activities. Your involvement will be instrumental in making these endeavors become successful. There will be something for everyone. The upcoming Anniversary Event of the EC4WDA will be a great avenue for you to show your “passion” by volunteering to help made this event spectacular. The more volunteers we have the better any organized event will develop. Not just our Anniversary Event but events held by your clubs and Regions. Don’t just sit there and think the “other guy” will do it, make it happen! Volunteer!

Are you happy? I sure am! Why? Well, 2 years ago I stood before the body of delegates and explained the downfall of our youngest Region. I promised you that when the right group of people and that certain someone was found that Region E would be re-activated. Guess what. It’s time! The name is Team MudNuts, the man is Scott Kyle. The mission, rebuild Region E! I had the pleasure to travel to the Rochester, NY area to visit with Scott and speak to the Team MudNuts club. I was impressed with the professional approach they had to their meeting and they way they planned and set up their events. Scott has already been in touch with several other clubs in the area in an attempt to bring more into the fold. It will be a tough road, past experiences will need to be put behind and a vision of the future needs to be the focus. Education will be the theme as we pursue the unorganized four wheeler and attempt to show them the benefits of being part of a large organization. I have committed myself to Scott in any way needed to assist in the redevelopment of that area. Please join me in making welcome our newest leader, Scott Kyle and the Team MudNuts club!

Let me take this chance to wish each of you and your families a safe and happy holiday season!

Hot four wheelin fun in the summertime! Warmer weather is finally here! With that comes the roar of the engines. Heading down the trail or tearing up the race track the motors of EC4WDA have come to life! It’s true we have activities year round but the summer months are by far the most active. Club trailrides, competition events, cookouts, campouts, Region get togethers, car shows, and so much more keep the members and families busy. One thing is for sure, if you got a weekend free, we got you covered!

We gave away another Jeep! And other tidbits from ... I had the pleasure of brightening an overcast and cloudy day for one lucky man this past November. The winner of our Association Raffle Jeep was Joe Box from Connecticut. It was quite a thrill for me to hand him the keys to the Jeep. I am sure he has given it a great home and I’m sure it will give him many hours of fun and service.
