In the month of October, 1973, 13 charter members organized the Tiretown 4 Wheelers, a nonprofit organization, for the purpose of recreation and the social aspects of the sport of 4 wheeling, camping, and off the road enjoyment, with the primary consideration regarding these activities as one of safety at all times.
Club colors of bright orange, black, and white are seen in the jackets, club emblem, banner, and decals displayed by the many numbers at the various trail rides, car shows, rodeos, and other club functions which Tiretown 4 Wheelers have sponsored or attended in the 25 years since they were founded.
Their first competitive event, the Tiretown Crazy Eight Rodeo, was held at the club grounds near Ravenna, Ohio, on September 20-23, 1974.
On the 25th anniversary of its' founding, the club maintains its position of respect in the Akron area with 25 members. It continues to provide for its' members those objectives for which it was organized:
- To provide social, educational, and recreational activities.
- To participate in and support civic activities for the betterment of the community.
- To promote the sport and past time of four wheel drive vehicles.
- To promote, organize, and/or hold outings, meetings, runs, trail rides, safety, and similar programs.
